Time Warp
Isn't time the oddest thing?
The echo of a nearly empty house, similar to when we arrived, boxes packed, similar to when we arrived. The difference now is that we are leaving, not arriving. We are looking back at memories here, instead of forward. This place is familiar instead of new.
It feels like we've been here forever, but it has gone by so quickly and feels like we just arrived.
As I vacuumed out Q's closet I entered the "warp" of time. I haven't opened it in such a long time. When we first arrived here I actually hung clothes in that closet (it is soooo small). The clothes that hung in there were baby dresses, 6-9 months, she was a baby, now she's a toddler. It was just the three of us, now it's the four of us.
I had the same feeling when I vacuumed out the "family closet", which now doubles as G's room (opposite of the other closets this one is huge)! When we first arrived, we stored boxes and bins (storage) in the area where his crib is now.
Time is funny. It feels like we've been a family for forever, like I know these little souls as if they are grown. We have only been parents for 29 months!!!
Yep, time is odd. Change brings reflection and often reflection opens the un-gated, but very definitive "time".
Soon we will move and we will only look back on this "frame" of time. I feel like until we do that we are floating! Not quite IN what we are looking forward to, and still not able to LOOK BACK on where we are. Can you hear the music from "The Twilight Zone"! Then you know where I am at today!
