Today... a review

We had a great long weekend.

Friday was our date night, which we used to begin stripping and painting our outside trim. We have paint flaking and falling off all over. It took some of Saturday and most of the day yesterday to finish the job, but it's done and looks nice. The worst part was cleaning up the paint that fell. Being on the roof reminded me of the times I'd crawl out my own window, as a girl, to sit on the roof. It's quite peaceful.

So, Saturday we worked in spurts. I took Q to dance and when I came home Matt went to help the Chamberlain's move. We had a few hours when he got home, this is when I scaled the side of our house via ladder. While Matt was adjusting it it fell and pinched his hand real good. Our cute little Q had gone inside. Matt went to look for her while I was working. She had run back inside to get a bandaid, on which she had put Neosporin, to bring back out for her dad's owie. How tender! That afternoon I went to do a photo shoot for said Chamberlains. It was fun. I did have two breakdowns during our session. They moved to UT yesterday. I am so sad to see them go. I got some great shots of their family though. After our shoot we had them over to spend our last evening together. It was bitter sweet. It's hard to say goodbye to such good friends.

I will post more photos from the session HERE.

Sunday afternoon we headed down to Letchworth state park. They do an annual hot air balloon launch. It was awsome! It was so exciting. I had a ball taking photos and got some great shots. We went with the Christensens and saw the Hulses and Borrens down there. The kids loved it! When we were leaving and asking them if they had fun, G said he wished we could live there! We watched for a while then played frisbee while waiting for the cars to clear out. The Hulses didn't have much gas so we carpooled out to make sure they got to a gas station! We had such a great time! It was well worth the drive. We will try to make it a tradition!

Again, I'll post more photos on the photo blog.

Monday we worked all day. We were exhausted last night. We couldn't even bring ourselves to go hang out with our friends! I know! Pathetic! It feels good to be making progress with our house though. Our next project is the kitchen! I can't wait to have it re-done, although I am not looking forward to the mess it will create! The kids played outside all day and loved it! G was in the zone with the hose. He was fighting the trees and shooting them!
