Summer Sandal Splurge... with lace...

Today is bright and sunny!  That makes me a happy girl!
I finished painting my front room last night.  Always a project here at our house!
This morning I wanted to take advantage of the last few hours the kids are in school.  I took the little kids with me and we ran to Burlington to check out their summer sandal situation.
I've found so many great deals there, so many great shoes for $10 or less... seriously!
I've been looking for a strappy black sandal, with a heel... I found so much more!

I came home with all of these, for like $60... craz-ae!
Those great little black heels look like they'd been returned, but I only paid $5 for them... I'll deal!  They're sassy!  Also got some floral heels for fun.
A couple of flat sandals, that look like a little more effort than your everyday flip flop...
A couple of wedges... I've not been into these for a couple of years, I'm rebuilding my collection!

I'm all set for summer!  Do you think these will all fit in my suitcase as I travel to UT?  I may have to leave some of the kids clothes home!!  :)

One of my projects last week was to extend a couple of dresses.  I did one for Syd, for her graduation, since I had the sewing machine out I did a few others.  I do have a couple of slips I've made, but for this dress I just sewed the lace right onto the bottom.
I've had this denim dress for a couple of years and hadn't worn it, just a little too short for me.  I added some lace and feel like that did the trick for me!  I'll keep it!
This black skirt was the same story, although I just let out the seam for some length.

Here is how I wore the denim dress this past week.

Last Friday my cute friend Paula invited me to 'Taste of Country'.  I don't listen to country all that much, but she mentioned Sheryl Crow and I was all in!  Plus a night out, hello!

I bought these sparkly white pants (and some peach) ones a few months ago.  Would you believe this is the first time I wore them?  Truth?  My butt felt a little too tight in them until just recently!  They were perfectly fabulous!

I felt a little out of place w/o my plaid shirt... I should've known!  I could've rocked that as well, oh well.  I layered my denim jacket on top when the sun went down.  Good times.
