The Man Shirt
Another week is here!
This past weekend I took advantage of the shorter run scheduled for me, and biked instead.
I've only been on my bike a handful of times so far this year. Saturday I had a shoot in the morning, then we had most of the day to relax. I took my bike out in the evening and rode 25 miles. It was good. I tried to add sprints throughout my ride. I debated running 6-8 after my ride, but opted for not.
This morning was so nice I pumped up the tires on the jog stroller and pushed the boys. We dropped O off at school, then continued on. It was a tough workout! Take into account the extra 100 lbs. I'm pushing, then take away the mobility swinging your arms gives you! It was tough. I thought for sure I'd be crawling the whole time, but kept my usual pace. It for sure felt harder!
I didn't push the boys much last year. They've grown tired of sitting there while I run! A couple of years ago I was running my 8 mile runs pushing them! Crazy! They'd fall asleep and I'd just run. It was great to have the option of running outside during the day. Now I've got to go early or go on the treadmill.
I took the DS today hoping it would buy me some time. It didn't, they couldn't see it very well in the sun. BUT, O's school is only a couple of miles away and that doesn't take me too long. He gets more anxious about sitting there. I dropped him off and E and I ran. E is better about just chillin' in the stroller. It was a nice change.
Here are my two big kids back in 2005... little, in my stroller.
Here are my two little boys... looking giant in the stroller now...
Today is laundry day... so much of my laundry is work out attire. I'm sure you are the same!
I was folding my running shirts and wondered why the crap the races have to give away man shirts all of the time. I'm sure it's easiest to buy genderless shirts, but is it too much to ask to then offer and XS?
I have long hair, that I wear in a braid when I run. When I run on the treadmill I enjoy wearing my short sleeved shirts. Since I sweat so much, anything less results in my braid whipping around and sticking to my arms, pitts, back etc.
Part of the method in moisture wicking attire is that the attire has to touch your skin to grab the moisture, no? When I'm wearing my man shirts there is no touching, only dripping!
This pink shirt is a woman's medium, this blue one is a small... obviously a men's small.
Is it too much to ask? I mean we all know that I spend a good chunk of my $ to run your race... I tell you I'm a woman, can you give me a woman's shirt?
How do you feel about the man shirt? I'm I being unreasonable?
My favorite loot bag freebie... hands down... pun intended... are these gloves.
I wear them all winter long and I LOVE THEM! Best freebie I ever got!
